CNN reports that two leading publishers of porno in USA - Larry Flynt (Hustler) and Joe Francis (Girls Gone Wild) - is asking the government for a bailout.

Comments to this has mostly been either vehemently against the idea, or think its a joke.
The arguments against bailing them out is not because the sum they are asking is absurd (5 billion UDS) or that they are actually not suffering in the economic crisis (actually porn is one of the last things to fall) but because ITS PORN. Its PORN, people!!! We can’t help porn-mongers! They will burn in hell and if we help them, so will we… Well that seems to be the jest of it.
A large part of the US population simply cannot accept that the government would grant financial help to porn-companies, whether this companies are suffering or not (“it’s great if they suffer and die” is what they say, but hide that they themselves are the worlds largest porn consumers… not seldom the ones who shout the loudest are the ones with something to hide… televangelists like Jimmy Swaggert, Douglas Goodman, Bishop Earl Paulk, Coy Privette to mention a few prominent ones… but sure… they preferred hiring prostitutes or having sex with congregation members instead of watching porn, so its ok…. oh,oh,oh and FBI boss Hoover with his witch-hunt against porn and homosexuals and other “sexual deviants” while secretly being a transvestite himself… LOL. Its the ones who shout the most who have most to hide!).
Now, why do I write about this, and where does my headline come in?
While I think that the sum Flynt and Francis are asking for is ridiculous for an industry that is actually going well, and that the reason for the request is somewhat thin (people are too depressed to have sex) and actually think its one of Flynt’s love of stirring things up (which is healthy), I support the basic idea and think Americans are stupid (but not in the way you think). Let me explain…
Id say that most of those who oppose that a federal bail be given to the porn-industry have applauded that the congress bailed out the banks and financial institutions with absolutely absurd amounts of money. But wait… you think its bad, when there is a financial crisis, to help a company who has nothing to do with the crisis, just because they produce porn. But you think its good that the congress uses the tax-payers money to bail out the bastards who actually created the global financial crisis in the first place!? Why? Because porn is immoral?!? Tell me and explain so I understand: what is more immoral: to sell photos of naked people or to take peoples hard-earned money and play with it so totally irresponsibly and with such greed that you create a GLOBAL economic crisis, putting millions and millions out of work and loosing pension funds and factories closing down and letting the people pay it all once again by taxes? Honestly… which is more immoral? Many americans are stupid to think that selling photos of naked people is bad and dont want to pay for their eventual losses because what they do is “immoral”, but at the same time gladly accept that financial institutes have taken their money and been so greedy as to the point that it all comes tumbling down and then accepting to pay it all once again by their taxes… and what these greedy irresponsible egotistic finance bastards did has not only affected the lives of millions and millions of americans, but billions of people all over the world! (And you think that peddling porn is immoral?!?) These are the guys who put you and your family out of work, who made food prices higher and your salary lower, who made your friend and relative jobless and homeless…! This is a bill you will have to pay for years and years and years to come!!! And you rather pay for their misdeeds than for some schmuck who had nothing to do with creating this mess?!? Then you are stupid beyond words.
I agree with Einstein on one point: there are only two things that are infinite: the universe itself and human stupidity.
I want to add a reply myself.
One woman said that she didnt want one dollar of her tax money to go to helping the porn industry and if the bail-out passed, she would vote against those who support the bail-out in all future elections.
My reply was:
You dont agree helping them simply because they sell pics of naked people… ok…
But you gladly use your tax money to bail out the criminals who used the hard working American’s savings and – out of personal greed – speculated with your money in such a way that they actually _created_ the crisis and made so many American’s lose their jobs and home and made your prices higher and salary lower? Who is immoral? These people didnt just dump the US economy and made factories close down, their actions has created a _world-wide_ economic crisis, putting MILLIONS of people out or work! What they did has (and will have for many years to come) repercussions far outside USA… all thru-out every country in the entire world!!
Please pause and think a bit… Selling pics of naked people isnt anywhere in the same league of immorality as what these financial institutes did! You bail-out the criminals who created the crisis, but wont spend one dollar to a company that is a victim of the crisis, simply because you think selling pics of naked people is more immoral than gambling with other peoples money and thereby making hundreds of millions of people jobless and homeless? I think it is maybe time to pause and think and to reconsider the definition of “immorality”.
Oh… just so you know… I dont like Hustler or Girls Gone Wild and actually dont have much of a taste for porn at all. I just think its funny how people swallow the actions of one “respected” industry that actually act immorally and with no regard for peoples lives and livelihood, but choke over another company who has nothing to do with creating the crisis, imply because they deal with porn.
Personally, I think this is what Flynt wants to achieve: to use people’s “politically correct” distaste of the porn industry to try to make people open their eyes and see the reality: “who is REALLY immoral, our industry or their industry?” You bailed out the criminals, for crying out loud and actually _believe_ those guys are moral and that its a “respectable” business.
But that is just _my_ opinion. Who knows? Maybe God will say on the judgment day “Sure, you where so greedy and played with others money and put hundreds of millions in despair, causing people to starve and others to commit suicide because the plight you put them in, but that’s ok, no biggy. Now YOU on the other hand sold pics of naked people…”
